Hello & Welcome to June News

Winter has arrived and this is a great reason to head to Australia. I am going to be away this week in Brisbane and I am especially interested in checking out accessories and fashion so I can tell you all about the trends in the July Newsletter.

May has been busy with speaking engagements to groups about image, health and fitness. If you have an event and need a good speaker I am available and my sessions are fun, informative and interesting.

My client Sharon Jackman has sent me a newspaper article from the Sunday Star Times, May 2, 2010 "WOMEN SHOULD ADD STRENGTH TRAINING TO THEIR ANTI-AGEING LIST". BY Paula Goodyear.

It's not just the wrinkling of the out skin that makes a 60 or 70 year old look older than that of a 30-something. It's also what's happening to the stuffing inside - when muscles start shrinking, bodies sag and posture droops. This doesn't just effect how a body looks, but how it functions - ever-weakening muscles make it harder to get up the stairs or out of your chair....... to read the rest of the article click here to the Trish Buckman blog.

Have a great June, stay warm and healthy.

Colour...what's hot?

Colour...what's hot?

What is the trend with colour overseas right now?

Although black is being worn everywhere in Europe it is not actually everywhere in the shops. The main colours featured are soft summer pink, denim and grey. All the summer clients will love this theme. But what are you going wear if you are strong colours? Combining from opposite sides of the colour wheel, so purple with yellow. If you have had your colours done shades of these tones will work well also. The summer season colour is out of the square... or should we say out of the colour wheel.

Health, fitness and lifestyle ideas for June

Training - there are so many styles of training out there that its mind boggling. The good news is that they all produce results of some sort if you follow them consistently; however some methods are good others are great - but you need to know what is right for you. The object of training, especially weight training is to workout in such a manner that you create a muscular stimulus sufficient to result in increases in growth and strength. So what training methods work best? Overload training of course! Overload training is best described as using a greater overload on a targeted muscle group during a workout than previously used forcing the muscle to adapt and become bigger and stronger. The consistent increase in exercise-induced stress makes this training style so effective.
