Hello & Welcome to the Autumn News
Hard to believe it is already May. There has been so much going on in the world, it reminds us we are such small specs in this Universe but at the same time joining together, we become a mighty fource. Never before have we seen such an outpouring of compassion, empathy and kindness in NZ. We indeed live in a beautiful place, environmentally but also with the people we live along side of.
And so I see Colours in Harmony, my personal business and those I work with as a big part of that. Looking good, feeling good all contributes to the world. A healthy positive enviornment for all those we come into contact with.
Enjoy good things!
Trish

Health Update:
As we go into cooler days the need to look after ourselves becomes more of a priority with shorter days. We often use it as an excuse to not get out for out for fresh air and exercise, and sometimes the not so healthy comfort foods make us feel good and the lack of sunshine and Vit D leaves us feeling lethargic.
So start on a regular exercise programme now and get into the habit of writing up healthy menus at the start of the week, do one shop (saves money as well) and leave things out of the pantry that you might be tempted to snack on on a rainy day. Many of us eat well but sometimes too much. Portion control is the key, don’t let your meals become too large.
Educate yourself, learn to eat only whole fresh and unprocessed foods (if man made it don’t eat it!).
Stay active, power walk five days a week and workout with weights twice a week (this increases bone strength and muscle which increases the rate at which you burn body fat–ie increases your metabolism).
It’s all about common sense and moderation in all things...stay well!

Recipe: Jamie Olivers Healthy Chicken Nuggets (for big and little kids!)
Slice chicken into slices and season with salt and pepper. Coat in flour, dip in beaten egg then coat with following crumb mixture.
In a processor combine lemon zest, garlic, parsley and breadcrumbs.
Cook in hot olive oil with the lid on.
Serve with green veges. Mash potato with the skins on and olive oil….yum!
Winter Wardrobe Planning
As we clear the clutter in our wardrobes after a wonderful summer of long hot days and balmy nights its seems a daunting task but I find a large glass of my favourite Pinot Gris and my favourite ACDC album I’m ready to go!
Here are the 3 R’s of wardrobe sorting:
Retain: everything you enjoy wearing and wear on a regular basis; if you are like most women that’s only about 20% of the clothes in your wardrobe!
Retire: anything you haven’t worn in a year to 18 months needs to go….no further discussion needed!
Review: Just a SMALL number of pieces left over that you are unsure about that you may need to think about. These need to be packed away in a suitcase or in another wardrobe.

Lighten the load, save money by having less clothes but focusing on coordination and lots of clever accessories and of course less clutter means you have more time to enjoy life.

Rock Your Life: Mike Hancock – How to play a bigger game in life
I recently attended one of Mike’s workshops in Auckland, very reasonably priced and full of workable ideas. I particularly enjoy his ‘out of the square’ thinking and look forward to completing Mikes SAGE programme to enhance and grow my business.
